ACWP / Summers County Humane Society is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) West Virginia corporation with operating funds based on donations, grants, fundraising events, and membership dues.
Submit a completed Adoption Application with references. All dogs and cats are spayed or neutered before adoption. Our adoption donation covers appropriate vaccines and vetting for each pet. Contact 1-855-WV4PETS or acwp@acwp-wv.org.

Yes! We always need volunteers to assist in our lifesaving mission. Volunteers help drive, apply for grants, organize and host events, fundraise, provide photography and video, run errands, support our Animal Control facility, and more. Whatever time, talent, or treasure you are willing to give, we have a spot for you!
Our Amazon Wishlist is kept up to date and ships directly to our volunteers' homes. Amazon gift cards are also appreciated! If you would rather purchase physical items, some of our most needed supplies are: crates of all sizes; slip leads; detergent; bleach; Purina Dog Chow and Puppy Chow; dog bones and toys; dog houses; straw or pine shavings for bedding in the winter months.
Yes! This is one of our biggest needs. We provide all medical care for pets in foster, and can supply food and a kennel if needed. Please fill out our Foster Application and our Foster Coordinator will reach out to you.
